Mission Hill Church (Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help)
Or, in other parlance, the Ted Kennedy church.
Had brunch with some friends in the neighborhood, and it was one of those wonderfully relaxed meals where conversation flows, and before you know it, it was time for my knitting circle, so I didn't make it inside.

Portrait of a Marriage
I have a husband who loves me so much he finds me candy-canes in August. He always puts my happiness first.
Very early on, our 1 cup measuring cup went missing. The metaphor of using the half cup hit home- stretching everything as far as it would go, cooking from scratch. We made it through a long stretch of unemployment with a high quality of life due to prudent decisions. That being said, we kept our sense of humor. After several years of coin operated laundry, we moved to Boston, where the washers cost credit cards. But we never broke our quarter-culling habit. Instead, we saved our quarters to go out to eat- and with all the low cost ethnic restaurants around here, it meant we had a dinner date every month.

St Bernard, West Newton
The front door at St Bernard's sets the tone for the building: a peppy little Gothic church with unique detailing (case in point: the light fixtures built into the transoms)
The high altar is very architectural, resembling a monastery or castle, and features a statue of St Bernard and crenellation.
The Stations are in keeping with the cool tones of the edifice. Each Station contains an image of Veronica's Veil. The Chartres blue of the stained glass makes a powerful impression.
